With reference to your letter of the 21st. instant,

regarding the claim by the Relatives of the Chinese Seaman, Cheung Kwai

Wan, who lost his life as a result of the sinking of the above steamer

on the 21st. June 1938, we note that the Claimants are prepared to accept

the sum of £25.- in settlement. We also note that you wish this payment

to be made through the Colonial Secretary, Hong Kong, and we, therefore,

enclose our cheque for this amount together with our covering letter

and shall be obliged if you will forward these to the proper quarter.
